The Story Behind The Shorts:
Some time back while thrifting I came across a pair of Ralph Lauren: Polo Orange Cargo Shorts. When I intially seen them I said “Whoa! How? Why Are these in here!?" I was astonished that something so cool as these shorts would be in a place like thirft.. So I rushed to the short’s inner seam to find the size..... when I found it I was disappointed for 3 secs lol because they were 34 & not 31s or 30s which is my waist size, but I quickly got over it and I decided to cop them anyway. Not knowing if I would every actually wear a pair of bright orange shorts that were techinically too big for me I decided to follow my gut anyway and purchased them. After wearing them maybe once, I had decided I was going to retire those bad boys until I had something that would work with them. To me they were so hard to incorporate in my wardrobe without being too "out there".
But one night during a chill session with Ant and some of our other friends we began to discuss style and how unique items of clothing can often embodied a special story with so much character. That's when I brought up the story of “The Orange Cargos.” Being unsure as to if I would wear them often Anthony said,
“You just have to do your own thing, no matter what anyone says. It's your life.”
About 5 month later while thirfting my mom came across the exact same pairs of short, but this time in my exact size! When she came home smirking saying, “ I got something for you!” I looked like what you talking about Mama lol, and she brought them out! I couldn't believe it, astonished again I decided to call Anthony to tell him about the crazy coincidence, after discussing the details we found out that the 1st pair happened to be his size. So it was only right for me to throw the kid a pass for an assist (excuse the basketball terminology, lol). In other words I gave him the 1st pair of shorts.
In discussing possible themes for a new post, we just decided on showing up with the orange shorts and putting our own spin on them. The Final Product: This Shoot =).
